iToner App Reviews

18 Customer Reviews:

Does NOT sync ringtones directly to iPhone! The old version of iToner syncs direclty to the iPhone. I had hoped this would be the case. I use iCloud and iTunes Match to keep everything on my phone backed up and in sync and do not use iTunes. I was hoping this version would allow me to just sync ringtones without involving iTunes. No sucg luck! :( If youre just looking for a ringtone created (of which there are many) this does that fairly well.

A great app. I now have ringtones of the Presidents hotline from the movie In Like Flint, a Song Sparrow, a 9600-baud modem struggling to connect, and other gems. The problem with other apps syncing to iPhones, is as I understand it, that the iOS give priority to iTunes sync. The old version of this app needed to be re-synced to iPhone after an iTunes sync - this much-improved version puts it into your iTunes library where it loads into your phone on sync, as required. As long as Apple controls syncing protocols, this is the smart way to do it. The interface is simple and elegant, and the app works extremely well. The company supports its users and updates frequently - they make SnapZ Pro, an essential tool for many users in the media industry. Recommended.

Best Ringtone Manager There is

This is the best ring-tone manager out there.

Ive been a big supporter of Ambrosia ever since the 90s, but this is my biggest disappointment. I bought the upgrade (should have been a free upgrade) then when it imported my previous ringtones it completely messed them up. It didnt recognize the clips I had made and then when it uploaded to my phone the sound is all distorted playing at different levels. I suppose I can remake all those tones but I spent a lot of time creating them and the only reason I bought this upgrade is because they advertized it imports from version 2.

Same issue as everyone else. Cannot play ANY files in iTunes library. The audio file "XXXX.m4a" appears to be damaged and cannot be used with iToner

Every time I try to drag the block representing the 30 seconds of a ringtone and try to move it over slighly, the window starts scrolling causing me to fully loose my place forcing me to start my selection over… Its odd becuse it starts scrolling even though the edge of the box Im trying to move is over halfway from the edge Im trying to drag it towards… Effectively the scrolling is way to sensative making moving the start of the ringtone a real pain.

I am not able to create custom ringtones with this app, when I try, it says the song in my library is damaged, every one i tried out of a random dozen. It does come with some nice bundled ringtones though. Updated: changed to 4 stars from 1, Ambrosia tech support has so far been able to give me the ability to import from iTunes, Presently have to manually drag the file to the ringtones library page from iTunes which at least lets me use the app.

Did what it says on the tin. I did have one issue where I couldnt find the ringtone on my phone. BUT then I looked at my phone in iTunes and noticed I had Sync Tones (under the Tones tab/section-thing) OFF. When I turned it on then my ringtone showed up! Hope this helps someone!

Very disappointed in this "upgrade". It doesnt import any of my music from iTunes as mentioned in other reviews. I can edit those songs in Amadaus Pro and then import, but I shouldnt have to take that extra step. It also limits ringtones to 30 seconds, which Ambrosia claims is an Apple limitation, but there are other apps that will go to 40 seconds. For as long as it took for this upgrade to come out, I honestly expected more from it. VERY disappointed.

IToner 3

When it starts up I get a blank blue and white window for awhile the it just quits. Waste of money.

Payed and downloaded new version to my iPhone 5… quits "unexpectedly" every time. I thought Apple did some kind of review/check before allowing junk on their App site. Would of gotten more pleasure out of giving the money to my X then wasting it here… I give them a 1x Star only because there isnt a "0"

I am using the latest version of this app (3.0.1) and it still continually crashes every time I try to listen to either the built in ringtones, or one from my iTunes library. Im running OS X ver 10.8.2. It is so bad, the crashing that is, that I honestly couldnt tell you if I like the app or not. The way it is at the moment, it is useless to me.

You’d think I’d have learned by now that Ambrosia makes lousy software. The editor doesn’t work. Soundfiles aren’t recognized. Other files show up as “copy protected” when they aren’t. The “HELP” file is from iToner v2, last updated 11 months ago. Not even worth the $2.99. REFUND!!!

All, I have owned the first two versions of iToner and absolutely loved it. Never had a problem with it in any way. So up until this point I have been a big fan. This version, to put it bluntly, is awful. Because, hey, it would help if it actually WORKED. It does virtually none of the tasks it claims. It won’t export. It won’t let me play back any of the sections I have selected in a ringtone. The Cleartone function that they’re so proud of simply blows out all of my existing sound files so I have to switch it off every time (it defaults to Cleartone for every ringtone selected). I could go on, but there’s little point. I think this is my first ever review (I tend to hang back and read), and I was prompted just because this thing is an utter disaster. If only they had actually made this app work, it would be great. But it doesn’t. Imagine that. Speaking of “first time reviewers…” hey, Ambrosia, you are not fooling anyone. The enthusiastic five star reviewer for this app is an obvious shill. Please don’t insult my intelligence - I already feel stupid enough for buying this app.

I must admit I am in the “why read the directions” club and originally gave this app one star but when you learn how to use this app it works great. One thing I dont understand is the tones exported to iTunes don’t appear in the normal library, iPhone 6 has to be pugged in and the folder “tones’ needs to be opened from there the rest is easy, just use the plus sign to add to your phone, easy. READ THE ITONER HELP FROM THE PULL DOWN MENU! I am using iPhone 6 and it works great.
